RISD / Sketching in Telepresence

TelePortraiture enables realtime collaborative drawing and painting between two people at different locations. The context is a museum, but is not limited to this environment. Whether the user is a skilled artist or merely a gallery enthusiast, they can have an engaging, inspirational, and unique experience drawing and painting.

This project not only shatters the “DO NOT TOUCH” principle of galleries, but also spawns a space where creativity is catalyzed, not just observed.

The system uses Flash actionscript coding, rigged proximity sensors, teleo intro modules, Make controllers, 17th century frames, & cherry turnings.
